Baseball Claims Blow-Out Victory Over Paradise Valley, 7-1
GateWay Baseball had all cylinders firing on offense on Saturday, winning big over Paradise Valley 7-1. The Pumas  got things started in the first inning when Noah Olson induced Matt Graf to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. That would be their only run of the game. GW answered back in the second inning  when a double by Kevynn Fernandez scored Macs Carrillo and Deigo Trujillo.  The Geckos scored three runs in the sixth inning.  GateWay put the pressure on in the inning, lead by walks by Jeffrey Martz and Trey Winget. The Geckos sealed the deal in the seventh when Trujillo hit a hard ground ball to right to score Carrillo.
 
Olson got the win for GateWay. The righty surrendered one run on five hits over five innings, striking out three.  Martz and Kyle Cop entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Kadden Drew toed the rubber for Paradise Valley. The lefthander lasted four and a third innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out seven.  Jayden Rowley, Connor Dougal, and Adam Koski each contributed in relief for the Pumas.
 
Geckos Nation saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game.  Kevynn Fernandez and Macs Carrillo each managed multiple hits for GateWay.  Fernandez went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits.  GW didn't commit a single error in the field. Diego Trujillo had nine chances in the field, the most on the team. Sean Cooper led Paradise Valley with two hits in three at bats.
