Trujillo's Walk-off Seals the Deal in GateWays Victory Over Paradise Valley
GateWay seized victory in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off at the end of the game to topple Paradise Valley. Starting the bottom of the ninth GW was trailing 10-6. Kevynn Fernandez flew out to right on the first pitch of the inning. With 1 out that's when the rally began. Dominick Cassell and Raenan Padilla then walked. Kaeden Moore hit a single to left field that scored Cassell. Jeffrey Martz then hit a deep sacrifice fly making the score 10-8. PV intentionally walked Trey Winget. Macs Carrillo found just the right spot to drop one in front of the right fielder that scored Moore. PV then intentionally walked the hot hitting Nathan Greene to bring up Diego Trujillo with the bases loaded. The game was tied at ten when Diego Trujillo was hit by a pitch, driving in the winning run and the celebration ensued.
 
Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. GateWay collected 12 hits and Paradise Valley had 13. The Pumas got things started in the first inning when Carson Craig singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. PV scored three runs in the eighth inning.  Gavin Acosta and Drew Kaatz both moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
 
Zach Martinez got the start for GateWay. The righty allowed five hits and three runs over two and two-thirds innings. Jackson Brenna led things off on the pitcher's mound for Paradise Valley. The lefthander went six and a third innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out six.
 
The Geckos had 12 hits in the game.  Kaeden Moore, Nathan Greene, Kevynn Fernandez, and Macs Carrillo all collected multiple hits for GateWay.  Moore and Greene both went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead GateWay in hits.
