GateWay Baseball Overcomes Arizona Christian University JV In Face Of 6-Run Inning
GateWay Baseball weathered a push by ACU JV in the seventh inning where the Geckos coughed up six runs, but  still won 9-6 on Friday. GateWay collected 12 hits and the Firestorm had nine in the high-scoring affair. The Geckos opened up scoring in the first inning, when an error scored one run. GateWay scored three runs in the third inning.  Gecko batters contributing to the big inning included James Warren and Kevynn Fernandez, both knocking in runs in the inning.
 
Noah Olson led things off on the mound for GW. The righthander lasted four innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out three. Salmon toed the rubber for ACU. He allowed seven hits and six runs over three and a third innings, striking out three and walking one.
 
The Geckos saw the ball well today, racking up 12 hits in the game.  Nathan Greene, Dominick Cassell, Jeffrey Martz, and Kaeden Moore all had multiple hits, collecting two hits each to lead GateWay.
 
Baseball is back in conference action today as they face Pima in a doubleheader. First game starts at 12 noon at The Gene.
