Baseball Splits with Cochise
Baseball defeated Cochise College despite allowing 3-eun inning in game one. GateWay weathered a push by Cochise College in the sixth inning where the Geckos coughed up three runs, but GateWay still won 8-5 on Saturday.  Meurant and Damian Garcia drove in the runs in that frame. The Geckos opened up scoring in the first inning when Raenan Padilla drove in two on a single. GateWay went on to notch four runs in the fifth inning.  Geck nation offense in the fifth inning was led by Dominick Cassell and Macs Carrillo, both driving in runs in the inning. Carrillo went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead GateWay in hits.
 
Jake Geis toed the rubber for GateWay. The righty allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out two. Mathias LaCombe started the game for Cochise, surrendering two runs on three hits over three innings, striking out five. 
 
 
In game two the Geckos struggled to find their groove falling to Cochise 11-4. The Apaches scored six runs in the seventh inning.  The big inning came thanks to a home run by Vega and a double by Meurant. Kaeden Moore went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead GateWay in hits.
 
Fernando Barreda toed the rubber for Cochise, lasting six innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out five and walking zero. Andres Gonzalez was on the pitcher's mound for GateWay. The righty surrendered three runs on six hits over four innings, striking out two.  Zach Martinez, Cade Nelson, and Aiden Patterson each contributed in relief for the Geckos.
