Paradise Valley Bests GateWay In Close Game
Both teams were strong on the mound on Friday, but the Paradise Valley Pumas were just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over GateWay Baseball on Friday.  Jake Geis started the game for the Geckos and recorded 18 outs.  The pitcher surrendered one run on six hits over six innings, striking out four.  Isaac Rehfield and Kyle Cop entered the game as relief, throwing two and a third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
 
A single by Jeff Martz in the third inning was a positive for GateWay.  Martz went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Geckos in hits.  GateWay didn't commit a single error in the field. 
 
Sam Lachat toed the rubber for Paradise Valley. The righthander allowed two hits and zero runs over five and a third innings, striking out five.  The Pumas totaled nine hits in the game.  Chaz Clemons and Drew Bond both managed multiple hits. 
 
The Geckos face off against the Pumas again tomorrow, Saturday February 11, at 12n at PVCC.
