Geckos take on the Coyotes in the Zinger Bat Tourney at Sloan Park

The Geckos watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 9-5 loss to Southern Nevada on Saturday.  Southern Nevada scored on a single by Gavin Amelburu, a triple by Bradley Stone, and a single by Mayze Mosher in the first inning. Southern Nevada  opened up scoring in the first inning.  Amelburu drove in two when Amelburu singled. Devin Contreras led things off on the mound for Southern Nevada. The hurler allowed three hits and three runs over six innings, striking out four. Carson Jacobs toed the rubber for GateWay Geckos Baseball 22. The righty went five innings, allowing six runs on six hits and striking out five.  Frankie Gulko and Tyler Gustafson entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and a third innings and one and two-thirds innings respectively. Dylan Fesperman led GW with two hits in four at bats.  The Geckos didn't commit a single error in the field. Gabe Preble had 12 chances in the field, the most on the team.  GW tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Diego Trujillo led the way with two. Southern Nevada collected nine hits.  Stone and Amelburu each collected multiple hits for Southern Nevada.  Stone went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Southern Nevada in hits.
