Shallenberger has record tying day with 6 RBI's!

Treston Shallenberger would not be denied at the plate when runners were on base on Friday, driving in six on two hits to lead GateWay Geckos past Lamar CC 11-7 on Friday.  Shallenberger drove in runs on a sacrifice fly in the third, single in the fourth, and a home run in the eighth. The Geckos earned the victory despite allowing Lamar CC to score four runs in the eighth inning.  Lamar CC's big inning was driven by a single by A Martinez and a home run by M Mcginnis. In the first inning, Lamar CC got their offense started.  R Trinkaus singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. After Lamar CC scored one run in the top of the fifth, the Geckos answered with one of their own.  Lamar CC scored when Mcginnis hit a solo homer. The Geckos pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning.  In the third Treston Shallenberger's sac fly scored one run for the home team. The Geckos put up four runs in the fourth inning.  GW's offense in the inning was led by Marcus Lucas and Shallenberger, all knocking in runs in the inning. Martin got the start for the Geckos. The pitcher allowed seven hits and two runs over four and a third innings, striking out four and walking one. C Sisneris was on the hill for Lamar CC. The pitcher went three and a third innings, allowing four runs on four hits, striking out six and walking zero.  B Zastrow, A Finkbeiner, and S Needham each contributed in relief for Lamar CC. GW tallied one home run on the day. Shallenberger went yard in the eighth inning. The Geckos collected 12 hits.  Nomar Basurto, Shallenberger, Lucas, and Ty Mead each racked up multiple hits for GW.  Mead, Lucas, Shallenberger, and Basurto each managed two hits to lead the Geckos.   Lamar CC collected 13 hits on the day.  H Escoto, Trinkaus, and Mcginnis each had multiple hits for Lamar CC.
