
GateWay baseball dominated Mesa in a decisive seven inning 8-0 victory on Saturday, March 29th at MCC. The Geckos offense exploded, tallying 12 hits, including extra-base hits like doubles from Austin Mallee and Jack Bergstrom, and a home run from Aaron Bazan. Bazan led the team with three RBIs, while Mallee, Bergstrom, Slavin, and Hunt each contributed an RBI. GateWay also displayed aggressive baserunning, stealing four bases throughout the game.
GateWay's pitcher, Dom Giustino, delivered a stellar performance, throwing a complete seven-inning shutout. He limited Mesa to just one hit and struck out three, effectively silencing their offense. In contrast, Mesa's pitching struggled, allowing eight runs on 12 hits, with Brayden Tambone taking the loss. Mesa's offense was unable to generate any momentum, failing to score and only managing a single hit.
