Game 1:

The GateWay Geckos edged out the Pima Aztecs 5-4 in a close contest on February 15, 2025. GateWay jumped out to an early lead, scoring a run in the first and adding another in the fourth. Pima responded with a run of their own in the third and fourth innings, tying the game. The pivotal moment came in the sixth when GateWay exploded for three runs, giving them a 5-2 advantage. Pima attempted a comeback, scoring two runs in the seventh, but ultimately fell short.

GateWay's offense was led by Jeter Mauzey and Nicholas Johnston, who each had two hits. Mauzey got an RBI double in the while Johnston had two RBIs. Max Slavin also contributed with a hit and an RBI. On the bases Mauzey, Slavin and Nick Mazzola all had an stolen base. On the pitching side, GateWay's Dom Giustino's got the win pitching four and two thirds innings allowing two earned runs and striking out three. Ammon Shaul got the save, pitching two and one third innings allowing two runs and striking out two. The game featured several stolen bases, with GateWay successfully stealing three and Pima one. Both teams committed errors, with Pima having two and GateWay one.

Game 2:

Pima dominated GateWay, cruising to an 11-4 victory. Pima's offense exploded early, scoring five runs in the second inning and another five in the fourth, building a commanding lead that GateWay couldn't overcome. GateWay managed to score two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with Pima's potent offense. Pima added a final run in the eighth to seal the win.

Pima's offensive charge was led by Jackson Glueck, who had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs. Several other Pima players contributed RBIs, showcasing a balanced offensive attack. For GateWay, Nick Mazzola had a strong performance at the plate with three hits, including a double, and an RBI. James Hackett and Kaden Wu both got on the board for a hit and run, with Jetere Mauzey and Matt Maize scoring the other two runs. Aaron Bazan also contributed with an RBI double. On the pitching side, Pima's Sal Valenzuela earned the win, while GateWay's Zac Wroble took the loss. The game saw active baserunning, with four stolen bases for the Geckos, two for Mazzola, and one each for Andrew Hunt and Hackett GateWay three.
